Friday, after a period of hybernation, Pishi and I participated in a casual question and answer period with Mr. Ganji! For those who don't know him, he is a jearnalist who has been jailed for 6 years for his articles and his views of the recent Iran's government.
For a person who has been in jail for a while, he was quite lively. However I felt who is very to the point and say it like it is person!
One thing, among his answers, that quite shocked me was his theory on the authority. He believies, that no matter how great a person you are, given power, you by default will do the same things as the other leaders who are a dictator and non democratic! He tried to explain a structure of government to limit this power, which I understood, however, I think the problem with the current Iran's governement is that the superim leader who some how is consider to be Pop for muslims, in Iran, is handeling country's political affairs, not a secular president whose position is to ensure the reinforcement of projects according to law. Now, law is not a secular law in Iran, it's based on Islamic law.
It's interesting after such a long time struggling to understand, certain talks and why some people believe in seperation of religion and state, I fully understood them. It was a productive session for me.
Afterwards, Pishi and I enjoyed a good meal at Beford Acadami and enjoyed the rest of the weekend, shopping at Yorkdale and visiting my parents playing poker and Rami and Hearts. And finally I finished the floural arrangments I wanted to do with the dried flowers from my wedding reception and we cleaned the apartment, inside out!!
